A Farm Memory

I recall in the 1950’s how the neighbor’s rooster would crow to announce each new day. Property lines were often shared for the farm animals to have more space, with chickens, ducks, a few cows, goats, and geese moving about. We had a large garden and a fruit orchard as did many families since the 1930’s when smaller farms replaced the big ones.
